El Castillo de Santa de Storm Lake abrirá de 6 p.m. a 8 p.m., y las familias pueden llevar a que sus niños conozcan a Santa después del desfile navideño.

Este 8 de diciembre Storm Lake United (SLU) junto con Santa’s Castle (el castillo de santa, por su traducción al español) traen Miracle on Lake Avenue “Christmas Throughout the Decades” (Milagro en la Avenida Lake “La navidad a través de las décadas”), una temática que integra películas clásicas navideñas que forman parte de nuestra historia.
Cabe agregar que los coros escolares de Storm Lake High School y la Universidad de Buena Vista se estarán presentando durante el evento en Brown’s Shoe Fit y The Foundry.
El director de mercadeo y actividades de SLU Fletcher Kucera dijo, “Nos alegra que los coros se tomen el tiempo de venir a cantar para la comunidad, ya que esta es la temporada donde están más ocupados.”
Otro de los eventos más esperados es el desfile navideño, el cual comenzará a las 6:15 p.m. en la Avenida Lake, seguido de la ceremonia de luces anual; Fletcher comentó que varios negocios participan en el desfile con vehículos alegóricos basado en la temática del año. Los vehículos serán calificados por un grupo de jueces que tomará en cuenta la creatividad de los participantes.
“Estamos emocionados por ver la creatividad de los participantes y la reacción de la comunidad,” agregó. “El departamento de bomberos y policía también suelen participar en el desfile.”
Cabe agregar que, si la temperatura es demasiado baja durante el evento, el desfile y la ceremonia de luces se tendrán que atrasar hasta que el clima lo permita, sin embargo, la mayoría de las actividades se realizarán adentro de los negocios.
Además, durante el evento los visitantes tendrán la oportunidad de visitar las estaciones destinadas para mitigar el frio que se encontrarán durante el evento donde se ofrecerán bebidas calientes y antojitos navideños. Algunas de las estaciones estaran localizadas en Sugar Bowl Gift Shop, The Uniform Shop, Storm Lake Bakery, Weaver Realtors, Paxton’s Jewelry, Always Bella, Celeste Fashion, Buy for Less, El Centenario y BV County Health.
La tarde iniciará las 5:30 p.m. con una gran variedad de actividades a cargo de varios negocios en Storm Lake:
Paxton’s Jewelry, donde las familias pueden crear sus propios adornos navideños
Zone Home Entertainment, el cual ofrecerá proyección de películas navideñas

This December 8th, Storm Lake United (SLU) along with Santa's Castle bring Miracle on Lake Avenue "Christmas Throughout the Decades", a theme that integrates classic Christmas movies that are part of our history.
Additionally, Storm Lake High School choir will perform at Brown's Shoe Fit and the Buena Vista University Vocal Choir will perform at and The Foundry during the event.
"We are glad that the choirs are taking the time to come and sing for the community, as this is their busiest season," said SLU Director of Marketing and Activities Fletcher Kucera.
One of the most anticipated events is the lighted holiday parade, which will begin at 6:15 p.m. on Lake Avenue, followed by the annual lighting ceremony; Kucera said several businesses participate in the parade with their own float based on this year's theme and a group of judges will rate the cars and the creativity of the participants.
"We are excited to see the creations of the participants and the reaction of the community," he added. "The fire and police departments will also participate in the parade."
Kucera added that if the temperature is too low during the event, the parade and the lighting ceremony will have to be delayed until the weather permits, but most of the activities already mentioned are indoors, so people can continue to enjoy them.
The community can also visit the warming stations that will be found during the event where hot drinks and holiday treats will be offered. The stations are located at Sugar Bowl Gift Shop, The Uniform Shop, Storm Lake Bakery, Weaver Realtors, Paxton's Jewelry, Always Bella, Celeste Fashion, Buy for Less, El Centenario and BV County Health.
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a variety of activities sponsored by various businesses in Storm Lake:
