5 de agosto, 5:21 a. m.: La Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Crawford investigó un accidente vehicular que ocurrió en la autopista 59. Tadros Kuach Kuach, de 49 años, de Ames, conducía un Toyota Sienna plateado del 2003 hacia el sur por la autopista 59, rumbo al trabajo en Oakland. Su vehículo cruzó la línea central hacia el carril en dirección norte. Kuach realizó una acción evasiva y su vehículo se salió de la carretera hacia la derecha. Kuach perdió el control del vehículo, que se volcó y terminó en un campo de maíz.
Kuach fue transportado al Hospital Memorial del Condado de Crawford en ambulancia. El vehículo recibió daños por $5,000 y fue remolcado por Waderich Towing. El área del maizal propiedad de Jerry P. Schaben recibió daños por $800. Kuach fue citado por conducir con la licencia suspendida, no mantener el control, operar sin registro y sin seguro. Jade Victoria Milledge, de 25 años, de Schleswig, conducía un Cadillac Escalade negro 2008 hacia el oeste por la autopista 30. Su vehículo se salió de la carretera y se desvió hacia el camino de grava en el arcén derecho en la intersección con la avenida X perdiendo el control. El vehículo chocó contra la entrada de un garaje para auto, lo que provocó que se volcara. MacKenzie Ann Hoffman, de 20 años, de Graettinger, conducía un Pontiac Grand Am verde del año 2006 en dirección norte por la autopista 39. Cuando el vehículo de Hoffman se acercaba a la intersección con la E-16, un vehículo desconocido giraba hacia el oeste por la E-16 saliendo de la autopista 39. Un segundo vehículo, un Subaru Imprez rojo del año 2008 conducido por Ricardo T. Bartolon Ortiz, de 26 años, de Fremont, Nebraska, disminuyó la velocidad debido a que el vehículo desconocido giraba frente a él. El vehículo de Hoffman chocó por detrás al vehículo de Bartolon Ortiz. Nadie resultó herido. Ambos vehículos pudieron ser conducidos.

August 5, 5:21 a.m.: The Crawford County Sheriff's Office investigated a vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 59. Tadros Kuach Kuach, 49, of Ames, was driving a silver 2003 Toyota Sienna southbound on Highway 59, headed to work in Oakland. His vehicle crossed the center line into the northbound lane. Kuach took evasive action and his vehicle ran off the road to the right. Kuach lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over and ended up in a cornfield.
Kuach was transported to Crawford County Memorial Hospital by ambulance. The vehicle received $5,000 in damage and was towed by Waderich Towing. The cornfield area owned by Jerry P. Schaben received $800 in damage. Kuach was cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to maintain control, operating without registration and without insurance. The report said the owner of the vehicle, Abuk Yel Kuot Ngang, of Ames, was to be cited for allowing an unauthorized person to drive the vehicle.
Aug. 8, 2:23 p.m.: The Crawford County Sheriff's Office investigated a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Kenwood Road. Napoleon Alcaraz Hernandez, 40, of Denison, was driving a black 2012 Kenworth semi-trailer southbound on Kenwood Road. As he neared the northbound intersection with O Avenue, the trailer's tires entered the shoulder, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle overturned on the road and rolled into the southwest ditch, coming to rest on its driver's side. Alcaraz Hernandez suffered minor injuries to his hand and was transported by Dow City Ambulance to Crawford County Memorial Hospital. The trailer was a tanker truck that contained all-natural material that was leaking into the ditch, so the Department of Natural Resources was immediately notified and responded to the scene. Crawford County Secondary Roads was also notified of gravel on the road due to the accident. The semi-trailer and tanker were towed by a private company. The semi-trailer and tanker sustained $50,000 worth of damage and the vehicles were categorized as a total loss.
August 9, 9:49 a.m.: The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office investigated a three-vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 30 in Arion. Jade Victoria Milledge, 25, of Schleswig, was driving a black 2008 Cadillac Escalade westbound on Highway 30. She explained to the investigating officer that she looked at her phone and saw that her mother was calling her. When she looked up, she was unable to stop her vehicle in time and crashed into the rear of a white 2016 Ford Explorer driven by Molly Marie Casperson, 23, of Denison. Casperson explained that she was slowing down to prepare to stop behind a green 2021 Jeep Gladiator driven by Mahela Jo Kline, 20, of Dunlap, when her vehicle was suddenly struck from behind by Milledge’s vehicle. Casperson’s vehicle was pushed into the rear of Kline’s vehicle. Kline was stopped and waiting for a vehicle ahead of her to turn left when she looked in her mirror and noticed Casperson's vehicle was going to rear-end her vehicle. No injuries were reported. Milledge's vehicle received $6,000 worth of damage. Casperson's vehicle received $12,000 worth of damage. Kline's vehicle received $2,000 in damage. Milledge was cited for failure to stop a safe distance. Casperson was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance.
Aug. 9, 6:29 p.m.: The Crawford County Sheriff's Office investigated a single-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Highway 39 and Avenue X. Kristin Marie Bissen, 18, of Dunlap, was driving a black 2016 Chevrolet Impala southbound on Highway 39 northwest of Dunlap. Her vehicle left the roadway and veered onto the gravel road on the right shoulder at the intersection with Avenue X and she lost control. The vehicle struck the driveway of a driveway, causing it to roll over. Bissen and a passenger, Allyson Elaine Anderson, 17, of Dunlap, were transported by EMS to local hospitals for treatment. The vehicle received $10,000 in damage and was assessed as a total loss.
Aug. 11, 1:17 p.m. m.: The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred on D Avenue. MacKenzie Ann Hoffman, 20, of Graettinger, was driving a green 2006 Pontiac Grand Am northbound on Highway 39. As Hoffman’s vehicle approached the intersection with E-16, an unknown vehicle was turning west onto E-16 off of Highway 39. A second vehicle, a red 2008 Subaru Imprez driven by Ricardo T. Bartolon Ortiz, 26, of Fremont, Nebraska, slowed due to the unknown vehicle turning in front of him. Hoffman’s vehicle rear-ended Bartolon Ortiz’s vehicle. No one was injured. Both vehicles were drivable.
