Sweet Peas Crystals and Novelty Gifts
Sweet Peas tuvo su gran apertura el 16 de junio con el corte de la cinta como negocio miembro de la Cámara de Comercio de Denison (CDC). Al acto asistieron propietarios de otros negocios también pertenecientes al CDC.
La nueva tienda tiene un concepto nuevo de negocio latino en la comunidad, ya que entre sus productos ofrecen una gran variedad de cristales, aceites y jabones que ayudan “a relajar el cuerpo y la mente.”
Su propietaria Jessica Martínez dice que su objetivo como emprendedora no solo es tener su propio negocio, sino que lo importante para ella es educar a la comunidad en el uso de los cristales, la lectura de cartas y el uso del chacra “Que son cosas positivas, contrario a las creencias negativas que mucha gente tiene.”
“Algunas personas ven cosas las cartas de tarot, y automáticamente dicen que es brujería o que algo negativo les va a pasar por usarlas,” explicó. “Sim embargo, este tipo de cosas no tienen que dar una experiencia negativa al menos que la persona así lo quiera.”
Jessica también ofrece sesiones de Reiki, una técnica japonesa que sirve para reducir el estrés y promover curación y equilibrio en forma de energía, física, emocional, mental y espiritual. Entre sus beneficios incluye promover la armonía y el equilibrio, relajación y liberación de la tensión del cuerpo.
“Es ese tipo de cosas que, si quieres y estas listo para probarlas, aquí estaré para brindar el servicio,” comentó. “Varias personas no experimentan nada en su primera sesión, y eso está bien. Al menos pudieron usar esa sesión para tener un momento de silencio y meditación.”
Sweet Peas está ubicado en 1306 Broadway y sus horas de atención es lunes a viernes de 5 p.m. a 7 p.m.

Restaurante La Cantina
El nuevo restaurante La Cantina abrió sus puertas al público recientemente y ofrece una gran variedad de platillos, con especialidad en la preparación de platillos de toda clase de marisco.
El copropietario del restaurante de dicho restaurante Enrique Velázquez invita al público a saborear la charola de mariscos que es una de nuestras especialidades y solo la ofrecemos en nuestro restaurante.”
Enrique tiene 16 años de experiencia trabajando en restaurantes y a pesar de que él hace de todo un poco, su verdadera pasión es cocinar. “Me gusta ponerle esfuerzo a la comida para que salga bien y sepa bien.”
Marlen Almazán que también es copropietaria del restaurante La Cantina, comentó, “Nuestros exquisitos platillos van de la mano con el excelente servicio que aquí le ofrecemos a nuestros clientes.”
Ella también compartió sentirse contenta por el apoyo que la comunidad de Denison y visitantes de otras ciudades le han brindado.
Entre otras opciones del menú se encuentran los platillos: especial Monterrey, tilapia con camarón, mojarra con camarón. Además de que el restaurante ofrece una variedad de bebidas desde aguas de sabor, refrescos, cervezas importadas y margaritas de calidad.
El restaurante está ubicado en 19 S. Main St., y sus días de atención son de domingo a jueves de 11 a.m. a 9 p.m., y viernes y sábado de 11 a.m. a 10 p.m.

Bellas Jewels
Bellas Jewels es una tienda contemporánea de ropa juvenil que abrió sus puertas el 22 de junio. Está ubicada en 1313 A Broadway.
Su propietaria Karen Galindo dijo, “me encanta la moda, y ofrezco ropa de calidad que puedas tener por un largo tiempo.”
Hace seis años, Karen trabajo en tiendas de ropa y se enamoró de la industria, por lo que decidió comenzar a vender accesorios en línea y eventualmente abrir su propio negocio donde no solo ofrece ropa a la moda, sino también accesorios y, próximamente, zapatos. Karen también planea agregar ropa para niños en un futuro cercano.
“Otra de mis metas es hacer colaboraciones con otras emprendedoras latinas, “agregó. “Como empresarias, hay que apoyarnos y hacernos sobresalir más en la comunidad.”
Karen ha establecido una sociedad de colaboración con la compañía AOURI, que es una compañía de joyerías lidereada por mujeres.
Bellas Jewels está abierto de lunes a viernes de 11 a.m. a 6 p.m., y los sábados de 11am a 3pm.

Sweet Peas had its grand opening on June 16th where customers received drinks and cookies. Among its products, you can find a wide variety of crystals, ornaments, shirts and more.
Sweet Peas owner Jessica Martinez not only seeks to bring something new to Denison, but also to educate the community that using crystals, card reading and using the chakra are positive things, contrary to the negative image that many people believe in.
"Some people see things like tarot cards and automatically say it's witchcraft or something negative is going to happen to them by using them," he explained. "However, this kind of thing doesn't have to give you a negative experience unless you want to."
Martinez also offers sessions of Reiki, a Japanese technique that serves to reduce stress and promote healing and balance in an energetic, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual way. Among its benefits include promoting harmony and balance, relaxation and release of tension from the body.
"It's that kind of thing that, if you want and you're ready to try it, I'll be here to provide you with the service." Martinez commented. "Several people don't experience anything in their first session, and that's okay. At least they were able to use that session to have a moment of silence and meditation."

Restaurant La Cantina
Restaurant La Cantina opened its doors to the public a little more than three weeks ago and offers a wide variety of dishes, especially seafood.
Enrique Velázquez, co-owner of the restaurant, invited the public to try the charola de mariscos which is "something you only find in our restaurant."
He has 16 years of experience working in restaurants and although he does a little bit of everything, his true passion is cooking. "I like to put effort into the food so that it goes well and tastes good," he said.
Co-owner Marlene Almazán commented, "I like to meet people and offer them the best service."
She also shared that she hopes the Denison community will continue to provide them with the same support they have shown so far.
Other specialties of the house include the Especial Monterrey, tilapia with shrimp, mojarra with shrimp, among other options. In addition, the restaurant offers a variety of drinks like aguas frescas, soft drinks, imported beers and quality margaritas.
La Cantina is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is located at 19 S. Main St., where Las Casitas used to be.

Bellas Jewels
Bellas Jewels is a contemporary youth clothing store that opened its doors on June 22nd. It is located at 1313 A Broadway.
Owner Karen Galindo said, "I love fashion, and I try to offer quality clothes that you can have for a long time."
Six years ago, Galindo worked in retail and fell in love with the industry, so she decided to start selling accessories online and eventually open her own business where she not only offers fashionable clothes, but also jewelry and soon shoes. She also plans to add children's clothing in the future.
"Another of my goals is to do collaborations with other Latina entrepreneurs," she added. "As entrepreneurs, we have to support each other and make ourselves stand out more in the community."
At the moment, Galindo is doing a collaboration with AOURI, a jewelry company led by women.
