La Noche de educación Familiar celebrada el jueves 30 de marzo en Storm Lake St. Mary's reunió a padres, abuelos, estudiantes y educadores para disfrutar de una noche de lectura, aprendizaje y diversión.
El evento fue coordinado por la directora de los grados PK-5 de St. Mary, Kate Swanson, y los maestros, quienes aseguraron de que los padres de los estudiantes de St. Mary se fueran con ideas y estrategias creativas para apoyar la educación académica para que sus hijos puedan utilizar las herramientas y tácticas que pueden despertar el interés y animar a sus hijos a participar en la lectura y los libros.
Los asistentes al evento se dividieron en sesiones de grupo en las que participaron en una búsqueda del tesoro, manualidades para acampar, juegos de letras, un cuento junto al fuego; terminando la noche con una lectura con alumbrados por linternas.
La noche culminó con muchas risas, así como algunos libros extra prestados de la biblioteca para leer el fin de semana.

The Family Literacy Night held Thursday, March 30th at Storm Lake St. Mary's brought parents, grandparents, students and educators together for a night of reading, learning and fun.
The event was coordinated by St. Mary's PK-5th grade principal, Kate Swanson, and teachers, who wanted to ensure that the St. Mary’s parents left with creative ideas and strategies to support literacy, as well as tools and tactics they can utilize to spark interest and encourage their children to engage with reading and books.
Eventgoers split up into breakout sessions where they participated in a scavenger hunt, camping crafts, letter scrambles, a story by the fire and ended the night with flashlight reading.
The night culminated in a lot of laughs, as well as a few extra books checked out of the library for some weekend reading.
