Cinco estudiantes de Denison High School (DHS) fueron seleccionados para el ‘2022 All-State Music Festival’ (Festival de Música del Estado 2022, por su nombre en español). Las audiencias se llevarán a cabo el 22 de octubre en Atlantic, Iowa.
Cabe mencionar que músicos de todo el suroeste de Iowa adicionaron para lugares codiciados en los tres conjuntos All-State.
Los estudiantes de Denison que fueron seleccionado fueron: Brian Ibarra (contra clarinete). Brian está en su último año en DHS, y es hijo de Antonio y Magnolia Ibarra. Este año marca el tercer año que Brian ha sido seleccionado para la banda estatal de Iowa. También fueron seleccionados Jayden Bradley (estudiante de primer año, bombardino), Christian Schmadeke (último año de secundaria, bombardino) y Abmeris Pérez (estudiante de segundo año, clarinete). Jayden es hijo de Nick y Cassandra Bradley, Christian es hijo de Cory y Stephanie Schmadeke, y Abimeris es hija de Eduviges y Blanca Pérez. Los tres harán su primer viaje a Ames para All-State Music Festival. Brian y Abimeris son estudiantes de la banda de DHS, bajo la dirección de Ruben Newell. Jayden y Christian toman lecciones del director de la banda de DMS, Peter Bekkerus.
También fueron seleccionados Adrián Velázquez-Nieto (trompeta) y Sofía Guzmán (percusión). Ambos recibieron audiciones de segunda ronda, y Adrián fue seleccionado como suplente para la sección de trompetas.
Seleccionado para el All-State Chorus fue Wyatt Randeris (bajo). Wyatt es hijo de Jason y Mindy Randeris, y esta es la tercera vez que ha sido seleccionado para el Iowa All-State Chorus. También recibió reconocimiento del coro Emily Espinoza que fue seleccionada para una audición de retiro. Todos los vocalistas son estudiantes de Kandy Thompson, directora de música vocal de DHS.
En total, 30 músicos del DHS adicionaron para los conjuntos All-State. Los cinco estudiantes aceptados viajarán a Ames el jueves 17 de noviembre para participar en los ensayos del concierto número 76 de todo el estado de Iowa, que se llevará a cabo en el Hilton Coliseum el sábado 19 de noviembre. Five Denison High School students have attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians by being selected as members of the 2022 All-State Music Festival. Auditions were held on Saturday, October 22nd in Atlantic, Iowa. Musicians from all over Southwest Iowa auditioned for coveted spots in the three All-State ensembles.
Selected for the Iowa All-State Band was Brian Ibarra (contra clarinet). Brian is a senior and the son of Antonio and Magnolia Ibarra. This year marks the third year Brian has been selected for the Iowa All-State Band. Also selected for the Iowa All-State Band were: Jayden Bradley (freshman, euphonium), Christian Schmadeke (senior, euphonium), and Abmeris Perez (sophomore, clarinet). Jayden is the son of Nick and Cassandra Bradley, Christian is the son of Cory and Stephanie Schmadeke, and Abimeris is the daughter of Eduviges and Blanca Perez. All three will be making their first trip to Ames for the Iowa All-State Music Festival. Brian and Abimeris are students of DHS band director, Ruben Newell. Jayden and Christian take lessons from DMS band director, Peter Bekkerus.
Also receiving recognition from the band on Saturday were Adrian Velazquez-Nieto (senior, trumpet) and Sofia Guzman (senior, percussion). Both received recall auditions (second round auditions), and Adrian was selected as an alternate for the trumpet section.
Selected for the All-State Chorus was Wyatt Randeris (senior, bass). Wyatt is the son of Jason and Mindy Randeris, and this is his third time he has been selected for the Iowa All-State Chorus. Also receiving recognition on Saturday from the choir was Emily Espinoza (senior, alto), who was selected for a recall audition. All vocalists are students of Kandy Thompson, DHS Vocal Music Director.
In total, 30 musicians from DHS auditioned for the All-State ensembles on Saturday. The five accepted students will be traveling to Ames on Thursday, November 17th to participate in rehearsals for the 76th Annual Iowa All-State concert, which will be held in Hilton Coliseum on Saturday, November 19th. The concert will also air on IPTV during the Thanksgiving weekend.
