Denison inaugura mural de herencia cultural

Denison cerró el mes de la Herencia Cultural el 15 de septiembre por la mañana con la inhumación oficial del primer mural que representa las diferentes culturas que componen Denison.
El mural fue expresado y pintado por la joven pintora y estudiante de Denison, la Señorita Isabela Gutiérrez, hija de María y Raúl Gutiérrez ambos de Denison.
Al preguntarle a la jovencita de cómo se sentía que su pintura está permanente expuesta a los ojos de los habitantes no solo de Denison, sino que, de todo el condado de Crawford y sus visitantes, dijo “Primeramente le doy gracias a Dios por haberme dado la gracia del arte de la pintura, también quiero agradecerles a mis padres por siempre apoyarme y motivarme en mis proyectos.
El director Cámara de Comercio de Denison, Evan Blakley, Robert Lyons, la alcaldeza de Denison Pam Soseman y la Supervisora del condado de Crawford County, Jean Heiden; comentan acerca del mural.
El tema principal del mural, es la comparación de las mariposas Monarcas y los inmigrantes. “Ellas emigran por un mejor estado de tiempo, nosotros [los inmigrantes] lo hacemos para tener una vida mejor. Las mariposas grandes del mural representan a nuestros padres, y las pequeñas somos nosotros – los jóvenes- que venimos aquí de cualquier edad, o nacimos aquí, y estamos fortaleciendo nuestras alas para quedarnos aquí y continuar haciendo de esta comunidad; un hermoso lugar para vivir.”
Cabe mencionar que el mural fue una iniciativa de LULAC Denison, organización local bajo la presidencia de Alma Puga, la que trabajó intensamente para llevar el proyecto a una realidad. “Agradezco a todos los miembros de la ciudad por ayudar a realizar este mural que refleja una de las bellezas de Denison como es la diversidad cultural de nuestra comunidad, representada en su mayoría por latinos. También quiero agradecer al encargado de los parques por medio de La Ciudad Denison, Brian Kempfert por todo su apoyo en este proyecto.

Denison unveils heritage mural

Denison closed Cultural Heritage month on the morning of September 15 with the official interment of the first mural depicting the different cultures that make up Denison.
The mural was voiced and painted by Denison's young painter and student, Miss Isabela Gutiérrez, daughter of María and Raúl Gutiérrez both from Denison.
When asked how she felt that her painting is permanently exposed to the eyes of the inhabitants of not only Denison, but all of Crawford County and its visitors, she said “First of all I thank God for giving me grace of the art of painting, I also want to thank my parents for always supporting and motivating me in my projects.
The main theme of the mural is the comparison of Monarch butterflies and immigrants. “They emigrate for a better time, we [immigrants] do it to have a better life. The large butterflies in the mural represent our parents, and the small ones are us – the young people – who come here at any age, or were born here, and we are strengthening our wings to stay here and continue making this community; a beautiful place to live.”
It is worth mentioning that the mural was an initiative of LULAC Denison, a local organization under the presidency of Alma Puga, who worked hard to bring the project to reality. “I thank all the members of the city for helping to make this mural that reflects one of the beauties of Denison, such as the cultural diversity of our community, represented mostly by Latinos. I also want to thank City of Denison Parks Manager Brian Kempfert for all of his support on this project.
