Evan Blakley director ejecutivo del Consejo de Desarrollo y de la Camara de Comercio (chamber and development Council executive director por su nombre en inglés), fue honorado con el reconocimiento “Heroes Rurales” la semana pasada en La quinta Cumbre Rural Anual de Iowa, Kirkwood Community College en Cedar Rapids.
“Evan fue seleccionado por la diferencia e impacto que ha establecido en el condado de Crawford y especialmente por su enfoque en el espíritu empresarial en Denison”, dijo Mark Reinig, presidente de la junta del Consejo de Desarrollo Rural de Iowa, y organizador de la Cumbre Rural anual. La Cumbre Rural reúne cada año a líderes de pequeños pueblos de Iowa. El evento de este año incluyó una ceremonia de reconocimiento rural que rindió homenaje a un grupo de personas que han hecho diferencia en su comunidad o región rural.
Con una multitud de más de 200 personas de 60 pueblos pequeños, la Cumbre Rural de Iowa abordó temas que van desde el arte y la cultura hasta el cuidado infantil y el espíritu empresarial. La Cumbre del próximo año 2022 se llevará a cabo en Ames del 12 al 13 de abril.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The 5th Annual Iowa Rural Summit last week included a first-ever recognition of “rural heroes” – and Chamber and Development Council Executive Director Evan Blakley was one of the 13 individuals honored on Thursday evening at Kirkwood Community College.
The Rural Summit brings together leaders from small towns across Iowa each year, and this year’s event included a Rural Recognition ceremony that paid tribute to a group of individuals who have made a difference in their rural community or region.
“Evan was selected for his impact in Crawford County and especially his focus on entrepreneurship in Denison,” said Mark Reinig, board chairman of the Iowa Rural Development Council which hosts the annual Rural Summit. “His work shows how small towns can thrive through great leadership and innovative projects.”
With a crowd of more than 200 individuals from 60 different small towns, the Iowa Rural Summit addressed issues ranging from arts and culture to child care to entrepreneurship. The 2022 Summit will be held April 12-13 in Ames.
