Accidentes
27 de febrero, 7:50 a.m. Maite Vargas Ramírez, de 17 años, de Denison, conducía una camioneta blanca 2012 GMC Arcadia hacia el norte por la calle 18 y Tanya Geanely Monge, de 16 años, de Denison, conducía una camioneta blanca 2012 Ford F150 hacia el oeste por 1st Avenue North. Accidents
February 27, 7:50 a.m. Maite Vargas Ramirez, 17, of Denison, was driving a white 2012 GMC Arcadia pickup truck north on 18th Street and Tanya Geanely Monge, 16, of Denison, was driving a white 2012 Ford F150 pickup truck west on 1st Avenue North. Both vehicles met at the intersection at the same time. Vargas Ramírez received possible injuries (pain complaint). Vargas Ramírez was cited for failure to yield the right of way. The side airbags in Monge's vehicle activated. Vargas Ramírez's vehicle received approximately $15,000 in damage and Monge's vehicle received approximately $10,000 in damage. Both vehicles were disabled and were towed from the scene.
February 27, 3:54 p.m.: A white 2011 Chevrolet Silverado K2500 pickup truck was illegally parked on the north side of Broadway near the 14th Street intersection. There were no drivers or passengers in the vehicle at the time. The truck had a ladder that was on top of the truck's tub that stuck out more than four feet and was not marked with anything. The ladder also protruded more than 16 feet from the sidewalk, which violates Denison City Code. William George Wieland, 77, of Denison, was driving a yellow 2016 Thomas school bus west on Broadway when the mirror and the top corner of the windshield struck the staircase. Approximately $1,000 worth of damage occurred. The bus mirror was broken and damage to the windshield. Wieland was not cited and the necessary adjustments were made to the ladder.
February 28, 6:25 a.m.: An accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 59/141 and Highway 39. Michael Thomas Schimerowski, 64, of Earling, was driving a brown 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck westbound and Lee Michael Hanson, 42, of Carroll, was driving a brown 2009 Lincoln, and was turning left onto Highway 39. An investigation by officers at the scene concluded that the accident was not the fault of either party. They both thought they had the right of way because of the stop signs. Nobody was hurt. Schimerowski's vehicle received approximately $1,250 in damage and Hanson's vehicle received approximately $1,400 in damage. Both vehicles were disabled and were towed.
