El martes 24 de septiembre de 2024, aproximadamente a las 9:15 am, el Departamento de Policía de Storm Lake fue llamado al Bloque 700 de Lake Avenue por un informe de disturbios tardíos. On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at approximately 9:15 a.m., the Storm Lake Police Department was called to the 700 Block of Lake Avenue for a report of a late disturbance. Upon arrival, police were informed that just prior to the call, a subject identified as Eris Martinez, 33, of Storm Lake, entered a business in the 700 Block of Lake Avenue and began yelling and throwing objects. Shortly thereafter, police received a report that Martinez had also created a disturbance at another business in the 300 Block of West Milwaukee, where he also yelled and threw objects while inside.
Police subsequently located Martinez in the 700 Block of Grand Avenue, and he was taken into custody in reference to the reported incidents, and was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail. Police reported that during the booking process Martinez acted aggressively by physically resisting entry. Police also reported that Martinez also threatened to kill an officer and his family. Martinez was eventually booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on the following charges:
Two counts of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor all-time.
Interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor
First-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor
Martinez was jailed on $2,900 bail.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
