September 21, 8:15 p.m.: The Denison Police Department investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred at North 15th Street and 1st Avenue North. George Michael Klabunde, 75, of Vail, was driving a white 2024 Chevrolet Traverse and Josue Rodriguez Angel, 22, of Brownsville, Texas, was driving a black 2008 GMC Sierra. Sept. 17: Dennis Allen Ahrenholtz, 26, of Denison, was arrested for fifth-degree burglary. The police report says a Hyper Tough circular saw valued at $39.50 was stolen from Walmart on Sept. 6. Records in district court show Ahrenholtz pleaded guilty to a negotiated voluntary plea on Sept. 24.

Sept. 18: A burglary was reported at a residence at 2100 Broadway. After the investigation was conducted, an arrest warrant was requested on Sept. 20 in the name of Devan Edward Dahleen, 21, of Charter Oak for third-degree burglary. The warrant was served on Sept. 23. According to the criminal complaint filed in district court, Dahleen forced open the door to the victim's apartment and began arguing with her.

Sept. 18, 3:17 p.m.: The Denison Police Department investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the parking lot of the El Mexicano Store on North 7th Street. Gherinse Zerabruk Tsegay, 39, of Tama, was driving a blue 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix and struck a parked red 2008 Toyota Tundra pickup truck. Tsegay entered the parking lot to pick up his brother and admitted to hitting the accelerator causing his vehicle to strike the rear of the pickup truck and also hit his brother. The brother, Kidane Zerabruk Tsegay, 45, of Denison, received minor, non-incapacitating injuries. The pickup truck received $2,000 in rear-center damage. Tsegay's vehicle received $4,000 in damage to the passenger side. The vehicle was disabled and towed. Sept. 18, 5:03 a.m.: The Denison Police Department investigated a crash involving two semi-trucks that occurred in the Ampride parking lot. David Adrian Shirbish was asleep in a red Peterbilt semi-tractor. He reported his semi-tractor was struck by another one in the parking lot. The impact of the crash woke Shirbish up and he saw a blue semi-tractor with a grain trailer heading north and then turn left heading east on Avenue C. The semi-truck has not been seen since the incident. The police report notes that the department will be awaiting further security surveillance. Shirbish’s semi-truck received $4,000 in damage to the front passenger side.
