At approximately 6:00 am, on May 24, 2024 the Storm Lake Police Department was notified of a robbery at the Storm Lake Middle School located at 1811 Hyland Drive.
Upon arrival, police observed signs of forced entry and damage to the interior of the building. Following an investigation that includes a review of surveillance video, police allege that an 11-year-old boy from Storm Lake entered Storm Lake Middle School without permission on the afternoon of May 23, causing approximately $500 in damage to a window. glass inside the school.
