Mientras los estudiantes del programa bilingüe (español e inglés) de la clase del primer grado de la profesora Mayra Velázquez, de escuela elementaría de Denison, se educan en los dos idiomas que predominan en la ciudad, aprovecharon la oportunidad de la presencia de este medio para trasmitir el mensaje en ambos idiomas, “Todos nos tenemos que proteger del virus (del Covid-19), con máscaras, lavándonos las manos, y guardando la distancia; para que no nos enfermemos y que no mueran más personas. Nosotros aquí nos ayudamos unos a otros a recordarle a nuestros amigos, cuando vemos que alguien tiene la máscara en la boca, les decimos que también se cubran la nariz.” Dijeron los pequeños estudiantes de apenas siete años, durante la visita que LA PRENSA IOWA realizó a la escuela por medio del programa Parners (socios por su traducción al español).
Parners es un programa educativo donde la escuela se asocia con diferentes negocios locales para que los estudiantes tengan la oportunidad de visitar el negocio y hacer preguntas de este. Este medio se enorgullece de ser parte del programa y agradecemos la oportunidad que la escuela nos brinda para conversar con las niñas y niños que son el futuro de nuestra sociedad.

While the students of the bilingual program (Spanish and English) of the first grade class of Professor Mayra Velázquez, of Denison Elementary School, are educated in the two languages that predominate in the city, they took advantage of the opportunity of the presence of this medium to convey the message in both languages, “We all have to protect ourselves from the virus (of Covid-19), with masks, washing our hands, and keeping our distance; so that we do not get sick and that more people do not die. We here help each other to remind our friends, when we see that someone has the mask in their mouth, we tell them to also cover their nose. " Said the little students, barely seven years old, during the visit that LA PRENSA IOWA made to the school through the Parners program (partners for their translation into Spanish).
Parners is an educational program where the school partners with different local businesses so that students have the opportunity to visit the business and ask questions about it. This medium is proud to be part of the program and we appreciate the opportunity that the school gives us to converse with the children who are the future of our society.
