El obispo de Sioux City R. Walker Nickless celebró junto a casi dos docenas de jóvenes los votos de Confirmación de la religión católica, el 24 de abril en la iglesia Santa Rosa de Lima.
Los tres grupos de confirmaciones fueron con jóvenes de Denison, Vail, Manilla/Manning,
Durante la celebración de la Homilía, el Obispo Walker les dijo a los jóvenes que este mundo necesita cada vez más de personas que esparzan la paz, amor, humildad y la Palabra de Dios en la sociedad que tanto lo necesita.
También, hizo un llamado a los jóvenes para que sirvian a Dios con alegría. “Si entre ustedes hay personas que sienten el llamado de servirle a nuestra iglesia por medio del sacerdocio, por favor escuchen ese llamado, que es el llamado del Espíritu Santo.
De igual manera, instó a los jóvenes a respetar y a hablar sin temor alguno por el respeto a la vida y no apoyar el aborto.
“Hablen siempre la verdad, igualmente aquella que el mundo no quiere oír,” dijo el obispo al grupo de jóvenes que escuchaban con atención.
De igual manera les habló acerca de respetar sus cuerpos y no dejarse llevar por la propaganda del sexo de la industria de la música y las películas. “Hay mucha música y películas que el único mensaje horrible que tienen es inducir al sexo. No hay nada de malo llegar al matrimonio virgen.” Dijo.
También, agradeció a los padres y padrinos de los confirmados por guiar a los jóvenes a vivir una vida cristiana con propósito.
Tanto al inicio como al final de la misa, el Obispo Walker realizó y pidió oraciones por la paz de Ucrania.

During the celebration of the Homily, Bishop Walker told the young people that this world needs more and more people who spread peace, love, humility and the Word of God in the society that needs it so much.
Also, he called on young people to serve God with joy. “If there are people among you who feel called to serve our church through the priesthood, please listen to that call, which is the call of the Holy Spirit.
Similarly, he urged young people to respect and speak without fear for respect for life and not support abortion.
“Always speak the truth, even the truth that the world does not want to hear,” the bishop told the group of young people who listened attentively.
In the same way he talked to them about respecting their bodies and not getting carried away by the sex propaganda of the music and movie industry. “There is a lot of music and movies that the only horrible message they have is to induce sex. There is nothing wrong with arriving at a virgin marriage.” He said he.
