BVU presentará a artista de ilustraciones de Disney

El artista Alex Maher con 30 años de experiencia trabajando como artista e ilustrador de Disney, compartirá con los estudiantes de arte de la Universidad de Buena Vista, donde el publico está invitado a asistir.

La Universidad de Buena Vista (BVU) se complace en darle la bienvenida al artista Alex Maher el 12 de abril a las 7 p. m.
Maher es artista senior de renombre de personajes en Walt Disney World en Orlando, Florida, con más de 30 años de experiencia como artista e ilustrador de Disney.
Maher trabajará junto a los estudiantes de BVU y los instruirá durante su estadía en el campus. "Me encanta contar historias y promover Disney, especialmente el legado y la historia," dice Maher. "Disfruto hablar con los estudiantes sobre cualquier tema relacionado con el arte y compartir mis conocimientos."
Maher estará en el campus del 8 al 19 de abril, interactuando con los estudiantes y compartiendo su experiencia.
BVU también invita de forma gratuita a la comunidad a asistir a la celebración del arte de contar cuentos que se realizará el viernes 12 de abril a las 7 p.m., en la Galería de Arte de BVU.
Los asistentes verán la exhibición de Maher, “Capturing Character,” que presenta sus ilustraciones de Disney junto con algunas obras de arte y animaciones de los estudiantes de BVU. También disfrutarán de las melodías de Disney interpretadas por el BVU Jazz Combo. Los visitantes tendrán la oportunidad de que Maher les enseñe cómo dibujar un personaje de Disney.
Al final de la velada, el subastador Brian Rubis, alumno de BVU en 2003 de Brock Auction Company en Le Mars, Iowa, ayudará a subastar dibujos de personajes originales y una escultura especial de Maher de Mickey y Buford. Los fondos recaudados en la subasta apoyarán a los estudiantes del Arte Liberal de BVU en sus proyectos creativos de narración.
El programa de Artista en Residencia de BVU busca unir a estudiantes con artistas, innovadores y creadores de diversos campos. Estas personas asesoran e inspiran a los estudiantes mientras muestran sus talentos y su trabajo. Buena Vista University (BVU) is excited to welcome artist Alex Maher on April 12 at 7 p.m. m.
Maher is a renowned senior character artist at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, with over 30 years of experience as a Disney artist and illustrator.
Maher will work alongside and instruct BVU students during their time on campus. "I love telling stories and promoting Disney, especially the legacy and history," says Maher. "I enjoy talking to students about anything related to art and sharing my knowledge."
Maher will be on campus April 8-19, interacting with students and sharing his experience.
BVU also invites the community to attend a free celebration of the art of storytelling on Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m., in the BVU Art Gallery.
Attendees will see Maher's exhibit, “Capturing Character,” which features his Disney illustrations along with some artwork and animations by BVU students. They will also enjoy Disney tunes performed by the BVU Jazz Combo. Visitors will have the opportunity to have Maher teach them how to draw a Disney character.
At the end of the evening, auctioneer Brian Rubis, a 2003 BVU alumnus of Brock Auction Company in Le Mars, Iowa, will help auction off original character drawings and a special Maher sculpture of Mickey and Buford. Funds raised at the auction will support BVU Liberal Arts students in their creative storytelling projects.
BVU's Artist in Residence program seeks to pair students with artists, innovators and creators from diverse fields. These people mentor and inspire students while showcasing their talents and work. Launched in spring 2021, this program featured artist Peter Carlson, 3D creator and game developer, and world-renowned photographer Andre Wagner '10, as well as writer, historian and filmmaker Lucas O. Seastrom .
