El Departamento de Bomberos de Storm Lake tendrá su segundo evento anual abierto al público, este sábado 21 de octubre en la estación de bomberos.
El público en general está invitado a asistir y conocer a sus bomberos locales.
Durante el evento, los asistentes podrán recorrer la estación de bomberos y ver de cerca tanto los camiones como el equipo que los valientes voluntarios usan para salvar vidas en caso de incendio.
De igual manera, los niños podrán visitar el simulador de seguridad contra incendios, donde aprenderán lecciones importantes sobre cómo prevenir un incendio, y escapar de forma segura en caso de emergencia.
Cabe mencionar que el Departamento de Bomberos de Storm Lake obtuvo la unidad simuladora a principios de este año.
A la 1:00 pm del día arriba mencionado, la institución ejecutará una demostración en vivo, de la unidad de rociadores contra incendio.
A las 2:00 pm., los bomberos harán una demostración de la herramienta Jaws of Life (las garras de la vida, por su traducción al español) donde demostraran cómo rescatan de los vehículos a las víctimas que quedan atrapadas en un accidente, y si las condiciones del clima lo permiten, un helicóptero ambulancia aterrizará en el lugar de la demostración a las 3:00 de la tarde.
En la actividad, habrá disponibles materiales educativos gratis para adultos y niños. De igual manera, el departamento estará ofreciendo a los visitantes demostraciones y consejos para mantener el hogar libre de cualquier indicio de incendio; además que es los niños podrán divertirse en el recorrido de los camiones, al mismo tiempo que recibirán material educativo para prevenir un incendio.

The Storm Lake Fire Department will have its second annual event open to the public this Saturday, October 21 at the fire station.
The general public is invited to attend and meet their local firefighters.
During the event, attendees will be able to tour the fire station and see up close both the trucks and the equipment that brave volunteers use to save lives in the event of a fire.
Likewise, children will be able to visit the fire safety simulator, where they will learn important lessons about how to prevent a fire, and escape safely in case of emergency.
It is worth mentioning that the Storm Lake Fire Department obtained the simulator unit earlier this year.
At 1:00 pm on the above day, the institution will perform a live demonstration of the fire sprinkler unit.
At 2:00 p.m., firefighters will demonstrate the Jaws of Life tool where they will demonstrate how they rescue victims who are trapped in an accident from vehicles, and If weather conditions permit, an ambulance helicopter will land at the demonstration site at 3:00 p.m.
At the activity, free educational materials will be available for adults and children.
