La jovencita Isabel Gutiérrez fue la ganadora del primer lugar del mural que por primera vez en la historia de Denison, representará las diferentes culturas que viven en la comunidad mencionada.
Isabel que acaba de terminar el noveno grado en el Distrito escolar de Denison, expresó sentirse feliz porque su dibujo fue el escogido por una comisión de miembros de Denison Lulac. “Estoy feliz que mi dibujo haya sido el escogido para representar las diferentes razas culturas que tenemos en Denison. Para mí es un gran orgullo que mi pintura va hacer apreciada todos los días por las personas que visiten el parque.”
Al preguntarle, cuál fue la inspiración para su dibujo, dijo “Bueno el tema central que Lulac solicitó era la mariposa, y pensé en pintar brazos con las manos abiertas que representan no solamente las diferentes razas de nuestra comunidad, sino que también nuestra fortaleza. También me inspire en la libertad, en el pensamiento y creencia de que todos somos iguales sin importar de qué cultura venimos.”
Cabe mencionar que Isabel con otros jóvenes voluntarios, empezaran a pintar el mural el 18 del presente mes y será expuesto al publico el 25 de junio que será el dia del desfile de Herencia cultural que culminará en el parque Washington Park con diversas actividades y comidas.

The young Isabel Gutiérrez was the winner of the first place of the mural that for the first time in the history of Denison, will represent the different cultures that live in the mentioned community.
Isabel, who just finished ninth grade in the Denison School District, expressed feeling happy that her drawing was chosen by a committee of Denison Lulac members. “I am happy that my drawing has been chosen to represent the different cultural races that we have in Denison. For me it is a great pride that my painting will be appreciated every day by the people who visit the park.”
When asked what was the inspiration for his drawing, he said “Well the central theme that Lulac requested was the butterfly, and I thought about painting arms with open hands that represent not only the different races of our community, but also our strength. I am also inspired by freedom, by the thought and belief that we are all equal no matter what culture we come from.”
It is worth mentioning that Isabel, along with other young volunteers, will begin to paint the mural on the 18th of this month and it will be exhibited to the public on June 25, which will be the day of the Cultural Heritage parade that will culminate in Washington Park with various activities and meals.
